Glenbrae Teachers

Glenbrae currently have have seven active teachers who are qualified under the rules of the Victorian Scottish Union. Each teacher has a First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check and Public Liabilty, Professional Indemnity and Performance Insurance.
Bernadette Rae
Bernadette began teaching in 1988. She has competed overseas in Scotland and New Zealand and performed in Japan, France and Denmark. Her aims for teaching are to ensure that all students reach their full potential, in a fun and safe environment.
Carmel Kirk
Carmel is a talented dancer and teacher who has competed in New Zealand and performed in Japan, Indonesia, Denmark and France. Carmel is a specialist choreographer, with an expertise in solo items.
Clarissa Spencer
Clarissa commenced dancing with Geelong Scottish Dance Inc and joined Glenbrae as a teacher and dancer at the age of 16. She assists in teaching our younger students.
Amelia Copey
Amelia ("Millie") qualified as a teacher in 2010, Millie is known by the dancers for her love of the colour yellow. As well as dance, Millie teachers Secondary School, Science and Mathematics.
Kelsey Hoskin
Kelsey qualified as a teacher in 2015, she is a previous state champion at the Under 16 years age level, and has been the Adult Victorian champion 4 times. Kelsey exhibits great skill as a performer, and excels at passing this on to her students.
Bridget Rae
Bridget qualified as a teacher in 2017, Bridget continues the family tradition of highland dancing as the daughter of Glenbrae's principal teacher, Bernadette. Bridget is a qualified Highland Hustle instructor. She consistently champions the underdog and works hard to ensure everyone gets a fair go.
Hayley Winter
Hayley qualified as a teacher in 2017, Hayley is the current Victorian Adult State Champion and has previously been the Victorian State Champion at Under 16 level, she continues to hone her own skills each week.
Aimee Smith
Aimee moved to Glenbrae in 2018 from Geelong Scottish Dance Inc. Aimee qualified as a teacher in 2016 and works with our adult learners.
